I’ve always been a wearer of rings and jewelry in general. I feel incomplete without at least something on. In my opinion, even the most basic outfit can be dressed up if paired with the right accessories. Dainty details can make even the biggest impact as far as style goes. Here are some of my go-to rules about stacking your jewels to make it seem effortless and right on trend…
Rule No. 1: Balance. You don’t want the total look to be overwhelming. So, the thinner the band, the more rings you can get away with. And that goes the same with bracelets.
Rule No. 2: Stick with one color scheme. I am normally a fan of mixing metals, but when it comes to ‘hand jewelry’ I generally like to stay with the same color palette so as not to look overdone and mismatched.
Rule No. 3: Pay attention to your nails. If you’re wearing more jewelry than your used to, people are generally more prone to glance towards your nails. A fresh coat of your favorite color can really enhance the look.
Rule No. 4: Don’t be afraid of layering. When you’re working with smaller pieces, layering them up can have big affect. It’s an almost whimsical, bohemian approach to standard jewelry.
Some of my go-to jewels in my personal collection:
Alex and Ani’ February Birth Stone/ Alex and Ani’ Key Bangle/ Alex and Ani’ Initial Bangle/ Alex and Ani’ Tree Of Life Bangle/ ‘Hello’ Necklace by Morning Lavender/ Nordstrom Argento Vivo Mini Knot Ring/Ann Taylor Loft Link Pave Bracelet(Sold Out, Similar)/ Tiffany & Co. Infinity Ring/ Kate Spade Gramercy Watch/ Marc by Marc Jacobs Watch/ Around the World Watch/ Lauren Conrad Dainty Rings

Great point about the nails, chipped nails and beautiful jewelry are not a good combo!

love this post. I always forget to add jewelry to outfits, but you show how much the right jewelry can enhance a whole look.

I feel naked without jewelry on, too, which is weird b/c my mom hate wearing jewelry. I’m not sure where I got it from, but I loved your tips and tricks.

P.S. My blog turned 1 today so I’m giving away a Louis Vuitton clutch. Be sure to enter!
