I’m terribly indulgent, so the idea of staying in a hotel in your home town (aka “stay cation”) is always appealing to me. It’s a way to see things from a different perspective and experience your surrounding areas as a tourist. Although I don’t live in San Diego just near by, I love Southern California because a new getaway is just hours minutes from your front door.The Ghirardelli’s Dessert Shop  and several sushi restaurants seconds from our hotel room was all too tempting. The nightlife in San Diego’s Gas Lamp District is always bustling and the restaurant choices are plentiful. Going back isn’t even a question. See you next year SD!
