I wanted to bring out some brighter colors in my makeup routine that were specifically chosen to enhance my skin tone for summer so I stopped by a Clinique counter to speak with an expert on the line and they knew exactly where to direct me. Choosing colors that bring out your best features can be difficult depending on the season and your skin type. I was explained that during the summer you have to take into consideration that your skin tone darkens and hair begins to lighten so brighter colors become your friend. I wanted to make a statement with my makeup so I was suggested to use the Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer line to get a saturating color that also has a smoothing primer so the lipstick doesn’t crease, smear, or transfer throughout the day. My biggest concern when wearing bright lip colors if it it will either get on my teeth without me knowing or on my chin when eating and I can safely say that these colors don’t budge!

Their staying power is incredible and they also don’t dry out or enhance the lines in your lips, which can be a problem for many people. The formulation is also very weightless, moisturizing, and dries to a modern-velvet finish so it doesn’t feel like your wearing a heavy layer of makeup. I also love the ability to sheer out these bright colors and apply a gloss for a more natural, everyday look. The whole counter experience was amazing as I learned things about the brand that I never knew, such that all their products are allergy tested and fragrance free, which is a big plus for me since I have super sensitive skin. I also tried out a Cheek Pop blush in the color ‘berry pop’ and the pigmentation is unreal! One light dab and you have enough product for both your cheeks. I can only imagine how long this blush will last me.
