If you haven’t seen yesterday’s Instagram post, then you won’t know we’re moving to Charleston (video coming tomorrow)!! Yesterday was our last day in Manhattan Beach and for a few weeks we will be living with my parents until all our stuff is shipped to Charleston. I can’t believe our time has come to leave this city. We’ve made so many memories here. We moved in right after graduating college, I quit my full time job and started my own business (Hayley Paige Blogs), got engaged, then married, and had Annabelle. When we first moved here we were so unsure of the area because we both weren’t familiar with any part of Los Angeles. For those of you not from the area, Manhattan Beach is a coastal town filled with beautiful houses, amazing food, and close to so many other fun cities that we’ve had the chance to explore (Palos Verdes, Downtown LA, Venice Beach, Marina Del Rey, Redondo Beach, etc.). It has so much to offer for young couples.

The one thing I think I’ll miss most (besides the weather) is the feeling of ‘home’. I’ve never truly felt at home anywhere else besides my parents house. I lived in my sorority house and in an apartment for short periods of time, but we’ve lived here for three years and are so familiar with the area. ^^Pointing at birds of course..her favorite word.
For such a long time that was the one thing holding us back from moving to a new place – being afraid it wouldn’t feel like home. I had a tough time adjusting to this area as it’s far from where I’m from, but it gradually happened over the course of a few months and now I have so much attachment to it. I totally get why most people never pick up and move to somewhere completely different. It can be a hard adjustment, leaving everything you’ve ever known to a place completely new and foreign. I also think you have to be in the right frame of mind for it to make sense. I feel like this is the perfect time because we’ve somewhat adjusted to being new parents and are ready for a new adventure similar to the one we faced three years ago.
On this particular day we walked along the pier, got hazelnut ice blended’s from Coffee Bean;), and soaked up our last day in downtown MB. I’m not sure if we will ever live here again, but I know we will be back!
I’m so excited for you guys to start this next chapter in y’alls life and to move to the south!
this post got me so emotional! We will soon be moving back to India to be Closer to our family and yet some days I find myself getting emotional about leaving this apartment and this country..we made some best memories here, had our daughter here and made this apartment a “home” …so excited for you guys ??
Hayley, you make me want be brave and move somewhere completely new!! But I’m caught between wanting to experience a new place and wanting to live near my family. You’re so lucky your parents are moving with you soon! I wish you an your little family the best. I’m excited to see all the new videos in Charleston! ?
I am so incredibly excited for you and your family. We made a huge move to the south over 3 years ago and it was the best thing we could have done. In fact this has felt like home for so long and still does and it’s hard to imagine living anywhere else! I wish you three the very best in this new chapter of your life. I hope you do a meet up at some point because I’m not too far from where you’re moving and would totally come 🙂
Hayle ! I am so excited to see this big move on the blog. I moved 14 Hours away from home to go to college. When I graduated I moved again; 3 hours from my college town and 8 hours from my hometown. It is always hard to get to know a new area. I recently moved to another apartment 3 exits down and even that has felt like an adjustment hahaha You can say i hate change. However, they have been the best decisions i have made. I am not sure if we are staying here and making this town home, but we will see. I am excited to see why you guys decided to move, I have a feeling there is a big reason and I am excited. Update from my snapchat I send! I am about to return my nespresso machine! Don’t hate me but I do not love it ! I hate the fact that i have to order online and it is also expensive when your husband drinks three pots a day. I hope they return it because i was so sure i was going to love it and i threw away the box haha we will see 🙁 Anyways, good luck with the move it can be stressful, but try to make the most of it!
Hi from Austin,
Claudia
So excited for you guys! Praying for safe travels, for you to feel at home in the south, and to learn amazing things 🙂 it is so hard to make such a big change, but CS Lewis says it best: “There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind.”
I can relate! I’m moving from Canada to Cali next year and it’s terrifyingly exciting. I know moving to SC will be great for your little family though. I can’t wait to see what Charleston has in to bring you. Who knows, maybe you’ll convince me to move there some day lol
Ok the important question is: will your moms shopping cart make the move!? Lol!
LOL I was thinking the same thing!!!
Cant wait for the video today!
I think you will be very happy with the move! Especially having your parents making the move too will be great. You will meet other young couples and Annabelle will have lots of friends!! You mentioned you found a house and I know you will love having more room, having a washer & dryer, a dishwasher, etc!!! And a backyard for Annabelle to play! Good luck with everything!!
