Today marks 6 weeks since Annabelle’s been born and it’s also the day that Doug finally went back to work! I wanted to snap a few pictures of the three of us before we carry on with our “normal lives” of going back to work and not laying around the house all day playing with Annabelle and watching The Office while she sleeps;) These past six weeks have definitely been some of the most intense, but most rewarding weeks of my life. For the first two weeks my emotions were all over the place and we were both settling into our new role as parents. Learning to change diapers, figuring out breastfeeding, watching her sleep to make sure she was safe (queue paranoid first time parents), and so many other firsts happened. I’m already starting to be that crazy Mom who looks back on Annabelle’s first newborn photos in the hospital and gets sad that she isn’t that little anymore…even though she’s only around two pounds heavier, it makes a huge difference!
I’m so blessed to have had Doug there to help me these last few weeks. I don’t ever really gush about it on the vlogs, but he truly is the best husband and supporter. He has never rolled his eyes once about changing a diaper (maybe in a funny way when she pees on him haha;), complained about waking up in the middle of the night multiple times to help with breastfeeding or cleaning my pump parts, or has never not asked to help in anyway he can. I swear if men could breastfeed he would! lol! Seriously though, as much as having a newborn is stressful with sleep deprivation and not knowing what you’re doing, he has proven to be everything I thought he would be as a Dad to Annabelle and a husband to me.

Doug really is the sweetest husband and daddy, too. You’re 2 lucky girls! ?
Such a cute family pic!!It is definitely an emotional ride in the beginning, and like you said, you’re already looking back marveling at how big they’ve gotten! You guys are such a cute family so thanks for opening up your home and family to us. I don’t watch the vlogs only because it’s not my thing, but I LOVE seeing the pic and blog updates. 🙂 Her little leopard print onesie is so cute!
Cutest family there ever was!!
I may have snort laughed at “cleaning my pump parts.” I’ve noticed how attentive he’s been in the vlogs and that’s definitely something to admire! Welcome to your new “normal” lady!
