I seriously need to upgrade from the iPhone 5 because this quality is killing me, but this shot was just too good! It’s at the end of the Malibu Pier eating lunch here with a good friend with an amazing view<3
So onto the surgery topic mentioned in the beginning…if you have no idea what I’m talking about, then you probably don’t follow me on Youtube/Snapchat(hayleypaigeee), but I got a breast augmentation! I’m normally a pretty private person here on my blog, which is strange because I’m the exact OPPOSITE on my Youtube channel. I think that’s because it’s a lot more difficult to make things picture perfect with video and I’m okay with that! Over the past two years of blogging, I’ve found my true joy is being completely transparent with my readers/viewers. That means I rarely hold things back because that’s how I am in real life! I share everything with my family and close friends. It all started out that way because whenever I would post videos I thought it was so neat that Doug and I could have some sort of a video diary of our lives. A place to look back on and see how much we’ve progressed. So when new things would happen like us moving to LA or getting married, I immediately wanted to document it in video form. The transparency only increased on my channel after I posted a series of videos surrounding my surgery and wedding related topics that people (particularly women) responded really well to. I realized that people are more willing to share with you if you share a part of yourself with them first.
For instance, once I started my “Wedding Ready” series on my channel (see playlist here), I had women contacting me from all over the world with questions regarding wedding related stuff! Costa Rica, Germany, Paris, and even some in California! It was insane. With blogging it’s a lot less connected and a lot more one sided in my opinion. I know it’s different for everyone, but I love how connected I feel to my viewers on my Youtube channel and get so excited for their responses to my videos. Sure, I’ve received a few questionable comments in the comment section, but for the most part people are REALLY nice and that makes me happy!
I was so nervous to post about my surgery because I didn’t want that to be the only thing my channel reminded people of….because I’m interested in SO many other facets of life too! I started to branch out into a “lifestyle” brand and less of a fashion/beauty brand and I have garnered much more of a response than I ever thought possible. It’s incredible to be able to connect with people on a much deeper level rather than limit myself to topics like fashion and beauty. While I LOVE those things, there’s so much more to who I am. If you want to know what I’m talking about, I’ll link below a few videos that are completely different content than what I typically post on this pretty, shiny curated blog of mine that are a lot more me (even if I have no makeup on and sweats ha). I’m planning on making all of my platforms a more cohesive depiction of me all around:) With that being said, I’ll still be just as obsessed as ever with fashion and beauty and will be posting it regularly!
