I had to share this recipe with you guys because everyone in my family went for seconds! Doug usually doesn’t like pies, but he couldn’t get enough of this one. I’ve never made a homemade pecan pie before and I’m not sure why. Usually I pick up a store bought one during the holiday season, but after trying out this recipe I’ll never do that again! The taste is unlike anything you can get at a store and the store pies now just make me grossed out haha. It’s such an easy recipe too because I skipped making the crust from scratch and there’s only a few ingredients, most of which I already had in my cupboard! I filmed making the pie at the end of this vlog if you want to see it in video!:) Hope you all had an amazing Thanksgiving with your loved ones!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 2 uncooked pie crusts
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- In a large bowl, beat eggs until foamy, and stir in melted butter. Stir in the brown sugar, white sugar and the flour; mix well. Last add the milk, vanilla and nuts.
- Pour into an unbaked 9-in pie shell. Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes at 400 degrees, then reduce temperature to 350 degrees and bake for 1 hour.
I am always reading pecan recipes and your picture caught me eye. You have a very unique look to your pecan pie. It looks wonderful. Well done!
