Who says your skin has to look dull and dry throughout after coming out of winter? There are so many products out right now that have the ability to bring your complexion to life, even if you’re battling against dry, flaky skin. Today I’m here to share with you a few of my favorite skin illuminating/hydrating products that I’ve been using everyday this winter to retain a natural looking glow.
Makeup Forever Matte Velvet +: The first step is to apply one of my favorite velvet matte foundation that I run to in the winter because although it keeps my oil at bay, it has a velvet, semi-shine finish that retains the luminosity in my skin.
Full Coverage Powder & NARS Laguna Bronzer: After that I like to only powder my nose and chin where most of my oil settles and keep the rest of my face free from powder to retain shine. Then I like to apply a matte bronzer (this one is my fav from NARS) and top that off with a baked blush.
Blush: I like to apply my favorite blush from the drugstore Milani’s Baked Blush in Luminoso. This is one of the best blush’s I’ve ever tried for under $10! It is the perfect pinky coral color for Spring and adds just the right amount of color to your cheeks.
Highlighter (1 & 2): Now onto the glow! What really helps bring my skin to life is two products: highlighter and a dewy setting spray. For highlighter I love combining two for the maximum reflective look;) The first is Benefit’s Watts Up highlighter. This is a cream based highlighter so it’s a bit more natural and when combined with MAC’s Soft & Gentle, you get the ultimate glowy look! For the past year I was using The Balm’s Maryloumanizer only and while that’s an amazing highlight, it didn’t look as natural and as a cream highlight like Watts Up. I love all three though! It just depends on the look you want to go for.
Setting Spray: I top everything off with MAC’s Fix + setting spray and let me tell you, a little goes a long way! This stuff makes me glisten! In a good way haha. It also helps melt all the products I put on my face into my skin and it helps blur any sharp lines.
These are good tips for mimicking a healthy glow, but healthy and fresh skin always starts from the inside. So skincare is always my number one focus because it allows your makeup to go on that much better!

Absolutely in love with this spring look. So sad that it’s barely scratching freezing temperature here right now and spring feels so far away. You look beautiful!
