I’m so happy to say I’m almost completely over my morning sickness (insert Angels singing here). I was so scared that I would be nauseous on my wedding day, but God blessed me once again and allowed me to feel perfectly normal and stress free. A lot of my viewers commented how calm I looked on my wedding day and I really was (watch my wedding day vlog here). I ended up doing all 8 of my bridesmaids makeup including my own, made my own flower arrangements/bouquets with my parents the night before, and basically set up the entire venue the morning of. The whole day was so surreal to me. It was almost like I was in a dreamlike state and I totally think it was the pregnancy! I wasn’t nervous at all and I didn’t even bawl my eyes out at the alter, which I was so afraid of doing because I’m so emotional. The second trimester for me has been textbook symptoms, which are hardly any thankfully!
- Mild nausea. I rarely ever feel nauseous and when I do it’s in the morning probably 1-2 days a week (hallelujah!!).
- A protruding belly! My stomach has grown so so much over these past few weeks. I’m finally starting to look pregnant and not like I just ate a big burrito! I’m looking into buying some maternity dresses and leggings for the fall season asap.
- Hungry all the time! I’m trying not to “eat for two” as they say, but my doctor told me that in your second and third trimester pregnant women require an extra 300 calories a day and boy have I been taking advantage of that. My meals are so sporadic too! I usually eat a small breakfast right when I wake up, lunch at 10:30-11:00am (so weird!), a snack at 2pm, and dinner at 4pm. If I skip any of these meals I start to go crazy and need to eat asap! So I buy lots of snacks to store in my purse in case of emergencies.
- Weight gain. This of course is normal, but it still freaks me out to stand on the scale each week and watch the numbers go up. You’re suppose to gain a pound a week starting in your second trimester and while I haven’t gained too much it’s still shocking to say the least! I keep reminding myself that it’s all for my baby and as long as I’m eating the right amount of good food then it’s all worth it. So far I’ve gained 9 pounds since my pre-pregnancy weight (starting at 127lb. and now I’m at 136lb.).
- Becoming exhausted by the end of the day. Before I got pregnant I never took naps. For me naps would always slow me down and make me feel more tired when I would wake up, but lately I’ve been falling asleep in the middle of the day as I’m working! I get so tired that I need to take breaks in between cleaning or getting ready.
- Nervous, but excited. When I first found out I was pregnant I honestly didn’t feel anything but shock. The thought of having a baby didn’t truly sink in until the morning sickness subsided around 18 weeks and after we got married. Now that my growing belly is apparent I’ve begun to feel a lot of conflicting emotions that I’m not used to. Sometimes the thought of a new life growing inside me and the whole birthing process scares me and other times when I go see the ultra sound and my baby’s kicking and moving around I’m beyond elated!
- Feeling movement. They say you can start feeling your baby move at 18 weeks and ever since I’ve read that in my favorite pregnancy book I’m constantly feeling for movement. I now feel little kicks that feel almost like tiny popcorns popping all the time and especially at night.
- Cramping. Ah this is the worst! I’ll spare you with details, but all the Moms out there know what I’m talking about. I’m pretty sure I’m starting to feel round ligament pain along with sciatica. It’s terrible! My Mom bought me a stability ball and I’ve been stretching out on it daily to relieve the pain.
- Gender. We have still yet to find out the gender and it’s driving me nuts! I went for two 3D ultrasounds and both times the baby’s legs were crossed and he/she was cuddled up in there comfortable. My twenty week bump in Japan…and yes I dyed my hair back brown;)
