Doug and I just moved into our new apartment and are already so excited to furnish and personalize each and every corner. There’s something slightly eery about moving into a new place with no furniture. It doesn’t really feel like your own, so we want to fill the space pretty fast to make it feel like home. We’ve decided to stick to a neutral color palate and incorporate lots of textures and varying patterns in the living room especially. We both really love the idea of marble. It has a clean look and adds a certain element of glam and sophistication into a space. Although marble can be insanely expensive, we’re currently looking into this possible DIY as an alternative. I’m also so excited to purchase my first few art pieces. I’ve really admired two artists in particular, Kim Keever and Gray Malin, for some time now and would love to showcase their large prints above the sofa and master bed. When sticking with neutral tones, I fell in love with a tufted sofa from Pottery Barn I spotted while shopping last month, but considering this is our first apartment and we don’t want to spend all our budget in one place, we settled on this similar style from Living Spaces for a fraction of the price. Overall, things are coming together pretty quickly and we’re so excited to share all the new details of our home! Drop me a line below if you know of any good online furniture stores you have ever used!

Oh we moved three times during two years, so I know something about it 🙂 For me what I love is that I always have some small projects to do around the home and amazing items to hunt 🙂
Love all of your picks. Happy decorating. Mel
