You know those simple pieces in your wardrobe that you could re-wear a million times and never tire of them? As basic as this kimono style dress is for me, this piece is definitely it. There’s something so flattering about mini skater dresses, especially ones that hug at the waist and flare out at the sleeves. There are a few reasons I prefer dresses over any other wardrobe piece, but the biggest one is that you are able to look cute without taking a ton of time and effort putting an outfit together. You basically just have to worry about accessories, which for me is simple because I basically wear the same jewelry everyday (these bangles, these earrings, and this necklace). I love this dress because of it’s lightweight fabric, but the biggest selling point for me was that it doesn’t wrinkle! My least favorite thing about keeping up a wardrobe is the ironing process (I really need to invest in a steamer). Asos has a lot of amazing little dresses like this one that I’ll be sharing with you on the blog later this month, but a few include this cotton wrap dress, this printed mini, and this smock dress (seen worn here).
Okay, now onto my new favorite product! A lot of people rave about Batiste dry shampoos and for years I couldn’t understand why all of these women were under the impression that not washing their hair was healthy for them! It wasn’t until I realized that dry shampoo has SAVED my hair’s life. I know I sound dramatic (okay, maybe I am a little), but without dry shampoo I wouldn’t have been able to grow out my hair and go back to a silky, shiny texture after damaging it off and on with bleach throughout college. I have tried so many dry shampoos in the past and being 50% Portuguese, they never kept the oil at bay! My hair would be greasy by lunchtime. I tried the Batiste dry shampoo in the “wild” scent and it’s AMAZING at suppressing oil and it smells so great! Every time I wear it Doug asks what my perfume is (ha!). He’s quickly realized it’s my dry shampoo. Seriously this stuff is my new favorite beauty product and I feel so strongly about it that I wanted to include it alongside a regular blog post!
