How many times can I say I love shift dresses? Not enough apparently! This past weekend Doug and I went out for a little date night at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants and I decided to wear one of my staple black shift dresses from Socialize. Summertime always pulls out my more casual side so I paired this dress with a new favorite bucket bag from Patricia Nash that has the most amazing handwoven stitching and two tone look that adds a boho vibe to any of my outfits. I decided to cinch in the dress at the waist to flatter my figure a little more with a brown belt. I love bohemian pieces because they seem to look so effortless. Many of them are loose fitting with special details that adds a vintage edge. For more boho inspiration, check out my posts here, here and here!
I can’t believe it’s summer already! I absolutely love summer in SoCal because it gives me an excuse to get outside and do fun activities. Each summer I love going to the beach (every weekend if I could!), boating on Lake Mead, or taking a weekend trip down to San Diego where it’s a bit cooler. A friend and I recently spent an entire day laying out on the beach. We even brought lunches and set up camp because we didn’t know when we would be able to do it again. After a few hours of chatting the time away, we realized we hadn’t reapplied sunscreen and I was completely burnt…hence the non sleeveless dress in today’s post:( Aloe Vera is my best friend right now! I really need to set a timer or something next time because this can’t happen again! Even though I’ve lived in SoCal for my entire life, each summer I always get one big burn that teaches me a lesson sadly.
