This week has been an amazing end to summer vacation. Following the visit to Lake Mead, I met another close friend for swordfish tacos at the infamous Bear Flag in Newport. I mentioned this in my “A Foodies Guide To SoCal”post here and I haven’t stopped dreaming about it since. These are probably the best fish tacos I’ve ever had (hence a post dedicated solely to their existence). If you’ve ever been to a sushi restaurant where you pick out your own raw sashimi from the display before you eat it, it’s essentially the same concept at Bear Flag. You personally choose from a wide assortment of freshly caught fish to put either in your taco, burrito, or bowl and they grill or fry it right in front of you. There hasn’t been a time when the line isn’t out the door because it’s definitely not a hidden treasure…everyone in the area knows how amazing their fish is. Topped with their secret “tommy sauce,” the flavors just melt in your mouth. Happy Thursday! Almost to the weekend! xo
